We Need Good Relations In The Office

Many of us spend more time a day with work colleagues than with family members: establishing good relationships with those who work with us, therefore, becomes essential to increase our productivity and our happiness. 70% of professionals say that having a good relationship with their colleagues is an essential element to be able to work in a serene way.

Everyone benefits from a close-knit team

The benefits of having colleagues working in harmony are reflected throughout the company: by creating an environment in which the development of friendship and collaboration is encouraged, the company can ensure greater loyalty, creativity, and productivity by the workers. We Need Good Relations In The Office

Professionals who have a good relationship with their colleagues are less inclined to look for other job opportunities elsewhere. They are also less distracted at work and more focused on achieving their goals and performance. In addition, workers who feel comfortable in a business environment tend to express themselves more freely, sharing ideas and personal aspirations without feeling the risk of being denigrated.

Interacting day after day with people you cannot wait to meet allows the worker to get to the workplace in a much more joyful way. In order to maintain a strong motivation in the office, it is also good to take those breaks that friendships usually require. Having a group of “colleagues-friends” in the workplace is essential for the survival of an entire team and consequently to achieve optimal business results.

Develop successful relationships

The advantages of creating a solid network at work are manifold. Regardless of whether a worker has recently appeared in the workplace or is close to retirement, there are some things that everyone can do to create new “colleagues-friends” in the workplace:

  • Time out of the office: it is important to spend time outside the office with your colleagues. In this way, mutual knowledge is facilitated, discovering aspects that go beyond the simple professional sphere. So it’s good to think about funny outings or other special events.
  • Be grateful: showing a real appreciation of the work done will allow you to be remembered by others for a long time. Our work commitments are getting bigger and bigger, so it’s good to remind your colleagues that their time is not lost. Not only will they be impressed by your courtesy, but they will be more than happy to help you on future occasions.
  • To pursue one’s passions: the best way to meet people who think alike is to explore common passions as much as possible. Finding common interests to discuss together is the fastest way to cement friendships. So exchange recipes with colleagues have lunch together, invite them to weekend events and so on.We Need Good Relations In The Office
  • Be honest: take the first step in creating genuine relationships, showing your true personality. An open and collaborative office is a place where professionals can create an environment of truth and sincerity. Being honest is not the same as being rude: in fact, negative people are always the last to be invited to parties!
  • Do not take yourself too seriously: hard work is a key component to achieving professional success, but being so busy is not a justification for talking to others in a contemptuous or haughty way. If you really want to conquer others, remember to use with them the same respect that you expect for yourself. Older people should set an example in this, never treating their colleagues from top to bottom.

Both leaders and workers should make a constant effort to encourage new links between colleagues. Having a support network in the office as well as at home is a winning strategy to increase one’s productivity and satisfaction in doing one’s job.
