Before joining a bouldering wall in Swindon it is worth doing some research into the different membership options available to you to save yourself some money and avoid any unwanted commitments.

Pay-As-You-Go Versus Monthly

This option is perfect for a one off session or occasional climbers. Each session will cost more than a membership but for the occasional climber it can work out cheaper in the long run. Typically a drop in session will cost around £8-£12 per visit.

How Often You Actually Need to Go

For monthly subscriptions, it’s a good idea to track your visits for a few weeks to get an idea of how often you climb. If you go climbing twice a week or more, it will most likely be cheaper for you to sign up for a membership. If you go climbing once a fortnight or less, it will be cheaper for you to pay as you go.

Off-Peak Memberships

Some gyms offer ‘Off-Peak’ membership that can save you loads of cash but restrict your access to the climbing wall to mid-week, daytime sessions. If you’re not a morning climber but work flexibly then this type of membership could be for you.

Family and Group Options

Family members can save a lot of money if all of them are frequent visitors to the bouldering wall. If you want Bouldering Swindon, https://www.270climbing.com/bouldering/swindon/ is a good place to start.

Student and Concession Rates

Most climbing gyms now offer a Student/Concession membership. Some climbing gyms advertise these membership options on their website, but it’s always worth asking at reception too, as they can offer a few extra pounds off a month.

Check the Contract Terms

When choosing a membership make sure to read the terms and conditions of the contract. Find out whether the membership is a rolling contract each month, or whether it is a fixed term contract. Make sure there is a suitable cooling off period and find out whether you can put the membership on hold whilst you are on holiday.

Take the time to work out the best membership deal for you at the climbing and save your pennies!
